OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — The 2024 season has been a landmark year for the OKC Spark, not just on the field but also in the digital arena. The team's growing presence across various platforms has been nothing short of extraordinary, reflecting the rising popularity and engagement of our dedicated fanbase.
Attendance and Ticket Sales
The enthusiasm for Spark softball was evident as nearly 21,000 tickets were sold across 17 home games. The excitement in the stands translated into a vibrant online community eager to stay connected with the team.
Social Media Explosion
Our social media channels experienced remarkable growth, reflecting the team's expanding digital footprint. The Spark Instagram account saw a significant 68% increase in followers since last season, generating 725,000 impressions between May and July. Meanwhile, Facebook followers grew by 59%, achieving a reach of 2 million and 328,000 impressions during the same period. On TikTok, our follower count surged by 40%, with post views reaching an impressive 433,000 between June and July.
Cox YurView Dominance
Cox YurView, the Official Streaming Platform of the Spark, also contributed to our digital success. Nearly 785,000 impressions were delivered during the season through streaming platforms, with 127,000 views. The ratings from ComScore were exceptional, with Spark games consistently ranking in the top 10 insertable cable networks. The highlight of the season was undoubtedly the 2-game exhibition series against Team USA, which drew our highest viewership.
Streaming Success
Through our 2024 partnership with AthletesGoLive, the Official Scoring Partner of the Spark, fans followed Spark road games closely. The platform recorded 71,000 streams throughout the season, with 3,300 streams viewed on demand. This impressive engagement underscores the growing demand for accessible, high-quality softball content.
