OKC Spark Defeats Texas Smoke in Game 2 of Series



OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Spark nabbed the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Texas Smoke on Monday. The game was tied at three with Oklahoma City Spark batting in the bottom of the fifth when Fa Leilua homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.


Oklahoma City Spark earned the victory despite allowing Texas Smoke to score three runs in the third inning. Texas Smoke's big inning was driven by a sac fly by Baylee Klinger and a double by Charla Echols.


In the first inning, Oklahoma City Spark got their offense started when Jocelyn Alo hit a solo homer.


In the top of the third inning, Texas Smoke tied things up at three when Klinger's sac fly scored two runs for Texas Smoke.


Donnie Gobourne was credited with the victory for Oklahoma City Spark. The ace surrendered one run on four hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out 11.


Alexis Handley took the loss for Texas Smoke. Handley went two innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out one.


Chenise Delce started the game for Oklahoma City Spark. Delce lasted two and a third innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one Alexa Difeo started the game for Texas Smoke. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking zero.


The Spark socked three home runs on the day. Haley Lee and Alo went yard in the first inning and Leilua had a four bagger in the fifth inning.


The Spark racked up nine hits on the day. Rylee Bayless and Leilua each had multiple hits for OKC. Leilua and Bayless all had two hits to lead the Spark.


Texas Smoke collected eight hits. Janae Jefferson and Echols each racked up multiple hits for Texas Smoke. Jefferson led Texas Smoke with three hits in four at bats. Texas Smoke didn't commit a single error in the field. Klinger had the most chances in the field with six.
